Most entry doors look fine from one side and forgettable from the other. This one works both ways. The outside is clean and bright - Snow Mist White with grid glass panels that complement the gray siding perfectly. Step inside, and it's a completely different feel. Rich Rustic Bronze with the same grid detail, warm hardwood floors underneath, and it just fits.
What we used here is a 1 Panel 440 Style 20-gauge smooth steel double door with a 2V x 3H grid. The two-tone finish isn't a paint job or an afterthought - it's a factory option that holds up over time. No peeling, no fading from one side looking different than intended.
The hardware ties both sides together nicely. Black Westcott Lever Trilennium handles on both doors, 2 3/8 inch backset. It's a small detail, but the right hardware choice keeps the whole look intentional rather than random.
Steel doors at this gauge give you real security and durability. They hold up against weather, they don't warp or swell, and they're low maintenance compared to wood. For a door that's used daily, those things add up fast.
Two-tone finishes are a great option when the exterior color scheme of your home doesn't match your interior design direction. You don't have to pick one or the other. This installation is a good example of how a door can serve curb appeal and interior aesthetics at the same time.
